Apple Computers come through again

This is the post where I talk about Apple. My dad had been having some problems with his G5 20" iMac. The main problem that was never solved was that his modem was not working properly. When he signed in it would work for 1:05 and then it would disconnect. When he signed in again it would work. There were many items replaced because of that, and other problems... The logic (mother) board was replaced twice, the memory sticks (1 G worth) were replaced, the power supply, and a few other things were replaced.
This doesn't look too good for Apple, but they came through when we needed them to. My dad finally called in and told the techs all that has gone wrong and was replaced. In the back of my dad's mind he was hoping for a replacement. He got what he had hoped for and more.
The Apple tech said that they would replace the computer and upgrade it. Now my dad has a 20" intel iMac. This has all of the features that he had in his old one plus a faster processor, a build in camera (iSight), and the capability to run a dual OS when he feels Bootcamp is up to par.
This was all possible because he purchased the extended Apple Care on his computer. I believe it is an extra couple hundred dollars, but as you can see with all of the replacement parts (that were free for him) and the upgraded computer, it was well worth it.
I have always been an avid supporter of Apple Computers, this just solidifies it. Thank you Apple!

Admit it. You're most excited at the prospect of playing a certain computer game on a Mac. I'm glad that Apple was so accomodating. Perhaps your family should realize that apples suck, however, as you consistently (CONSISTENTLY) have problems with them. They're customer service HAS to be good because people always have problems. :) I partly jest.

I like Apple because their OS is much more stable than Windows OS and it is much more user friendly. Face it Kyle, if you had the money you would think about purchasing a mac (because I know you've thought about it before).

I have to agree with Kyle without jesting. Apple hardware consistently sucks. OSX may be more stable than the best versions of Windows, but that's not saying a lot. OSX's kernel is still in need of a MAJOR overhaul, and it's stability can't hold a candle to Linux.
Now that there's a chance it'll somday run will full compatibiliy on non-Apple hardware, I doubt I'll ever buy a Mac. I need to get inside of my computers and make all sorts of crazy changes. That's hard with a Mac. But I totally support other people buying them (I'll even recomend it): we all agree Windows is worthless (except as a gaming platform) and while Linux may be the best...it's not ready for Grandma yet.

Nate, I think Apple terrorists could bust into your house, smash your pc, and leave a card so you could call a number and get it replaced and you'd still love Apple. I think your love o' Apple is more based on you than Apple. All that said, I'm very glad they take care of you when things fail. I see that I'm going to have to talk to all of you whenever I purchase my next pc.

Oh man. Now I feel like we're piling it on. I did think about getting an Apple, and those new Macbooks (too consonanty) look absolutely awesome. I will probably stick with PCs for continuity's (and price's) sake, but Apple's have treated you well. Buck up, Nate. At least you don't have a crappy ca...wait a minute. :)
